You don’t need to justify every tattoo with some sob story. You’re not getting some stars above your ass because your dog died - you’re getting them because you want them.

During the fight scenes, like all who see Baby Doll’s seductive dance, I descended into a dreamworld. In mine, however, rather than fighting, I am best friends with a hot dog. We go on road trips together and work at a hardware store owned by the hot dog’s grandfather. Sometimes, we will just spend the whole day down at the stream, fishing. We never catch anything, but we don’t care. It is just about the friendship more than it is about fish. The spring lasts forever. Then the dance ends, and I find I am still watching this horrific bucket of piss.
Everything about this review is excellent.

Fugazi - Suggestion (live) w/Amy Pickering on vocals

This was right around the time I started going to shows but I did not go to this one and it breaks my heart that I missed it because my 12-year-old self would have had cartoon stars in her eyes had she gotten to see it. Hell, my nearly 32-year-old self has ‘em watching this blurry youtube clip.

SO GOOD

Sooo I think I am going to base a tattoo of Danzig around this, with birds instead of cherubs.

Did you hear? The House voted to bar Planned Parenthood from federal funding. They cut funding for HIV tests, cancer screenings, birth control, and more, putting millions of women and families at risk. We can’t let it go unanswered. It’s time for you and me to stand with Planned Parenthood. Sign the open letter to the reps who voted for this bill — and to the senators who still have a chance to stop it.  http://www.ppaction.org/IStandWithPP

I honestly don’t know where I’d be in life if it weren’t for Planned Parenthood. I’m forever grateful to the ladies I worked with at Claire’s when I was 17 who told me I could go get birth control from PP and that they would protect my privacy. Years later it was thanks to PP (basically the only consistent medical care/attention I’ve received in the last 10 years) that I was able to find out about and take care of some wacky cell nonsense on my cervix. Thanks again, Planned Parenthood.

Imitation Cheddar Bay Biscuits

They don’t look like much in the photo, and they certainly don’t look like the biscuits served at Red Lobster, but they definitely tasted like them! The dough was kind of thin, even after I added more Bisquik than the recipe called for. Next time I will make the dough thicker and make them a more appropriate size. They spread into discs.

Recipe:

Dough:
2 1/2 cups Bisquik (the Heart Healthy blend is vegan)
3 Oz. Daiya cheddar
11 Oz. cold water
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Garlic Spread:
1/4 cup melted Earth Balance butter
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp onion powder
1/8 tsp dried parsley

To cold water, add Bisquik, Daiya, and garlic powder blending in a mixing bowl.
Mix until dough is firm.
Using a small scoop, place the dough on a baking pan lined with
baking paper. Bake in 375 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until
golden brown. While biscuits bake, combine spread ingredients.
Brush baked biscuits with the garlic topping

Not exactly health food, but I’m incredibly excited that cheddar bay biscuits are back in my life.

Jelly Donut Cupcakes.

Recipe from the Veganomicon cookbook. The jelly gets plopped on the batter before baking and the cupcake bakes around it, no pastry bag required. The recipe suggests that they sit for 24 hours before eating (to enhance the donutness I guess), but we couldn’t help
ourselves. I’m sure they’ll be even better tomorrow.
